As a few of you know, I applied for assistance with the Simponi and was APPROVED! It is completely covered for an entire year! There are no copays or anything! So, a HUGE shout-out to Johnson & Johnson for helping me with my RA. Hopefully by then, we will have insurance and then I can cross that bridge when I come to it.
I have had so much prayer for this to happen and I am grateful for every prayer and everyone who prays for me and my family. So, THANK YOU for your prayers!
Going to New Mexico this past weekend has had a profound affect on my attitude. I am not feeling so hopeless and I am thinking that with proper treatment for the RA I could be almost back to my active self and I am going to have a great summer! We have planned 2 major camping trips and lots of little trips. But the thing I am most excited for is ARCHERY!!!
I am getting ready to order my fletching jig to start working on replacing some of my broken arrows. I have to paint, crest, fletch, nock, and tip them. But my son is the one who is in need of arrows. He is down to 3! So, I will probably design his first but then again..maybe NOT!!
The biggest thing for me right now is that I have been given hope. This is huge because now I can start to work on me and confronting my issues..hopefully with minimal pain. My RA needs to find its place in my life not dominating my life. I know that I will always have issues with it, but if I keep working at it maybe those issues will become speed bumps instead of road blocks.
I just know that my daughter is very happy that soon I will have some of my energy back and then we can play outside!
Other ideas in my head! I am going to apply to the YMCA for financial assistance to help have a place to start to work out and get into swim pools as well as use the treadmills and stationary bikes to exercise on while Waide is in class 2 nights a week in Colorado Springs. I have missed going to the YMCA and if we can get another scholarship, that would really help out. Besides, the kids have been missing the Y as well. I can have Braden as a workout partner!
Ok, I am now needing to stop blogging because I have to get ready to drive to Colorado Springs this evening. The new dog in our family is going to grandma's house this evening as well and I am needing to go fresh grocery shopping! Sunshine Market here I come! We are making eggplant lasanga this week!
Good news about the Simponi. I have a $5 copay for my Humira.
ReplyDeleteI love eggplant and I won't stop eating it/cooking with it even though it is supposed to be bad for our athritis.
