This week has been a challenge...my first cold with RA

My hubby got a cold this week and he has been trying to keep me from getting it, but I did get a small cold and some medium-size flares.  My SKIN is even hurting with these flares.  I am flaring because of the snowstorms that moved through Colorado.  But I have been managing to keep the cold down to a minimum because I honestly think my body is just too tired to fight the RA and a cold.  I have been keeping warm, taking the meds, and sleeping when I can.

Now it seems like everyone is getting sick.  My mom is also sick, so I can't visit her.  My daughter has been complaining of a sore throat and I am just trying to dodge everyone.  BUT with everyone being sick, I haven't had a chance to work on my Wal-Mart Challenge project.  I have just over a month and nothing is where it should be for this project.

BUT I have been doing some custom graphics for a website that my hubby has been working on and I have to say they look pretty darn good!  The website won't be rolled out for awhile but when it is, I will be sure to announce it to the world!  This one will have all the bells and whistles to make it shine!

I am now 4 days Prednisone-free and right now I am not sure what is going on because of the cold.  But I have noticed that I am just taking Tramadol for pain and Aleve for the swelling.  I am getting pretty much the same results as I did when I was taking the Ibuprofen.  I don't think I will see the full effectiveness of being Prednisone-free until I have blue skies AND warm temperatures.

Speaking of medications, I am getting ready to apply for the indigent program for the Simponi shots.  We were waiting for the tax return, so I could get the tax information for the program.  So, lets pray I can get into this program.

Ok, my hands are hurting, I need to go and rest them.

  1. Oh no! This is awful. I am sorry that your summer has been so rough on you. Sending all the healing thoughts I can and hoping that you soon get a little break from both RA and Lyme.

  2. Hopefully everyone gets better soon. Winter's been rough on everyone. Old man winter has definately been playing hardball with my joints.

  3. My brother is sick right now too, i'm trying to avoid him as much as possible. & when people around me are sick and I tell them I CANNOT get sick they look at me like I'm joking... : / & I'm serious.

I hope your flares get under control. Even this cold/rainy California weather makes me sore I cannot even imagine living through snowstorms!
